A perfect day 1/65

A few years ago I decided to build a wildlife pond,

The digging of the hole was not fun, especially when the heavens opened halfway through!, yep it looked like a mud bath and of course I was panic stricken...the sloping shallow side to the pond was now actually IN the pond!

Didn't give up though - and to this day it is my favourite place in the whole world to sit beside,

Within days of filling the pond had a dragonfly come say hello,

Within weeks pond skaters/diving beetles/ back swimmers etc,

Within one year the first resident frog community,

Now each year its full of tadpoles, then later gorgeous mini froglets (cutest things I ever laid eyes on),

And the occasional newt : )

The bees and wasps love it too..

The caltha flower around the pond are the most delicious yellow, and of course the forget me nots and wild bluebells have moved in nearby too!

There are lots of self seeding indigenous plants, all great for wildlife,

This little pond really is my heaven on earth.

The painting was inspired by all of that :)

On offer here is the the first print number 1/65
