In the jungle with a lion ...canvas painting

ljholmesart

As per usual I haven't had time to do blogs lately, I've been hard at work renovating my old garden potting shed and my rickety gazebo, this tatty gazebo is my favourite seat in the garden and where I go for sanctuary.

I love to be outside and the potting shed is where I grow my seedlings, but I can't afford to replace these items so instead I set to work restoring them, first fixing the leaking roof on the potting shed and then giving both a fresh lick of paint.

I then had the urge to do a lion painting on canvas!, I'm not typically an oil/acrylic artist, my preferred medium being watercolour on paper, I do dabble with other mediums very occasionally but it's rare for me to step away from watercolour.

I've actually been wanting a canvas painting of a lion for a while (for the wall in my summer house) but nothing I'd seen thus far really grabbed my attention.

Anyways it's been great fun painting this feisty lion, and I may do more paintings on canvas during the coming weeks. I'd love to hear your comments, and do let me know if you'd like to see some more canvas work from me.

I'm into painting cats at the moment for some reason, maybe it's something to do with the way my garden looks currently, kinda feels like a little overgrown out there!, perhaps it's time to tidy up this wild garden of mine a tinsy bit, I don't like it too neat and tidy though, and the wildlife definitely prefer it a little on the wild side, hence I'll have to go easy.

Hey I hope you are all enjoying some arty fun, and looking forward to autumn (my favourite season).

Stay well

Love L J x
